We really duked it out this month over the Winter Song Contest. Not the loving atmosphere we intended on creating amongst the staffers. There are simply too many marvelous love songs be written in this strange state. We love it! Make sure to check back in March for our Spring Contest announcement...
This happy-go-lucky love song adds buoyancy to the heart. Tristan Jemsek proves that an endearing love song needn't be somber or overly sentimental. Instead, Tristan made a love song that resonates with early love and gives listeners that sudden surge in dopamine... as only love can.
2nd Place: Anamieke Quinn, "A Little Sailboat"
Sweet and lively, Anamieke's sprightly voice sounds much like the sailboat jauntily moving up and down the waves that will eventually bring her lover home.
3rd Place:  Bryant Vazquez, "Some Freak of Fancy"
Intricately woven, “Some Freak of Fancy” combines delicate lyrics and elaborate guitar work to create a beautiful love song.
Honorable Mention:  Scorpion vs. Tarantula, "I Don't Wanna Dance"
Not quite a love song... more of a love'em and leave'em song. It's feisty, fun, and a little dirty. We're all about it.
1st Place:  Tristan Jemsek, "Yer Smile"
Honorable Mention:  Super Stereo, "Go On"
Pure electro-pop pleasure, Lo's vocals are perfectly matched to carry off this hope-filled song of longing. Super Stereo as a whole makes the song something you can dance to.
