Often, when bringing this genre of music up in conversation, I will invariably get the response of someone beat-boxing the classic, 4/4, rave-disco-house beat with its throaty bass and a hi-hat through teeth. Tucson band Faster Than Light's new album Moment of Chaos is a menagerie a style and sound. Released earlier this year, its six songs whisk the listener aboard its interplanetary mother ship and propel them to distant galaxies and stars. Well, at least that's the idea... more.

When we say we’re an "Arizona-focused publication" that does not mean we’re restricting ourselves to Phoenix or even the Tuc-Phx-Flag triad. We mean all of Arizona whether Yuma, Bisbee, Strawberry, Parker or any other AZ locale.

We also feature artists with strong ties to the state who may reside elsewhere like multi-state/country residents, folks on AZ labels, relocated Zonies, perhaps even those who spend enough time in our desert to know the names of our bartenders.

We’re all about Arizona and all those who find an artistic home here. That's what this issue is all about.

Prayer has always been interesting to me. I'm an atheist, but the idea of putting faith in something unseen has always had a certain romance to it, in my mind. On long as the night, Brandon Decker (recording as “decker.”) sings songs framed as prayers.
