Electronica.

Often, when bringing this genre of music up in conversation, I will invariably get the response of someone beat-boxing the classic, 4/4, rave-disco-house beat with its throaty bass and a hi-hat through teeth. You know the one. And although Peachcake's new EP This Wasn't Our Plan has plenty of that perfect dance rhythm, it offers oh so much.... more.
Tucson band Faster Than Light's new album Moment of Chaos is a menagerie a style and sound. Released earlier this year, its six songs whisk the listener aboard its interplanetary mother ship and propel them to distant galaxies and stars. Well, at least that's the idea... more.

When we say we’re an "Arizona-focused publication" that does not mean we’re restricting ourselves to Phoenix or even the Tuc-Phx-Flag triad. We mean all of Arizona whether Yuma, Bisbee, Strawberry, Parker or any other AZ locale.
We also feature artists with strong ties to the state who may reside elsewhere like multi-state/country residents, folks on AZ labels, relocated Zonies, perhaps even those who spend enough time in our desert to know the names of our bartenders.

We’re all about Arizona and all those who find an artistic home here. That's what this issue is all about.
Although of Tramps and Thieves fame, Scott Howard also has his own thing going on around the Valley... more.

Prayer has always been interesting to me. I'm an atheist, but the idea of putting faith in something unseen has always had a certain romance to it, in my mind. On long as the night, Brandon Decker (recording as “decker.”) sings songs framed as prayers. According to his website, religion is not the point of his songs so I think he also sees the romantic side of such deep suffering...more.
A youthful day passed in the woods where tall trees barely allow for streams of hot, radiant sun while small flowers dance around your feet. You are free to run with all your might, a huge smile on your face. Dylan Pratt's latest album, Lifters & Leaners captures that warm energy... more.
Delicious food and wood paneling? Hula’s Modern Tiki does a remarkable job of combining all of their island influences into an upbeat atmosphere...more.
The historic mountainside town of Jerome is both a place of exquisite earthly beauty and rustic charm. The artistic penchant within Jerome’s meager population has elevated this former ghost town to a vibrant creative community...more.
In one regard, all music is sacred. Most music we hear in our daily lives, however, is not created with the intention of spiritual transcendence or in worship of divine otherness. Not so at Sacred Rites in downtown Flagstaff where each instrument and offering is aimed a higher purpose...more.
The first time I ever heard Nowhere Man and a Whiskey Girl it was nothing like I expected. I had foolishly envisioned some depressing, desolate country/western music and what I got instead was beautiful, harmonic folk-pop with a distinctly desert feel...more.

Ready to get out of town? Prescott is a great spot for in-state travelers. Check out our Prescott City Page. This town has a lot more than cool weather and hometown charm.
We love this state... well, some things about it. We do not like the decidedly right-wing slant to Arizona politics. We've decided to introduce the "YabYuck" section to the page to let you know what we think is terrible... like this state-

Listening to Unida Cantina, this year's album from Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers, is like taking a Mexican vacation with a group of friends from high school...more
