Take four talented and proven musicians, put them on a stage together, and if you're lottery lucky you might get a band as exceptional as the Valley's own Ticky Tacky.

Rachel Ludeman leads the charge with a forceful yet supple voice but doesn't stop there. She also joins in on piano, guitar, violin, and accordion... yes, accordion. Rachel has the quality and understanding of sound that implies extensive training but she has the all the spunk and rebellion in her as the satirical name of her band suggests.

Matching her ferocious onstage energy, Dylan Thomas Pals beats away at the drums with calculated fury. PJ Waxman (formerly of Dear and the Headlights) and Matthew Reveles are the mellow masters quietly switching a bass and guitar back and forth throughout the show.

The result is a remarkably dynamic, jazz-infused rocknroll. Each member of Ticky Tacky has moved well beyond the grasshopper phase of their musical development. They don't need to defy convention, these are the folks who make new ones.

Everyone I brought to the show walked out a fan. You should be one too. Check out Ticky Tacky online to hear their music until you can get out to one of their shows!
