Solar Culture
Venue, gallery, and home to Stephen Eye, Solar Culture gives a full sensational experience to any who sets foot into this artistic palace.

Overwhelmingly tall walls are covered, floor-to-ceiling, in 150 different art pieces hung for free by local Tucson artists. Along with all the local art, Stephen showed me some work of his own inside Solar Culture. Gracing one of the staircases leading up to his living quarters is a plaster masterpiece that took him over a year to build. The tour led me through one of the two green rooms and into the “Goddess Bathroom” where I discovered yet another masterpiece composed of painted tiles and colored glass.

Now all of this is just on your way to the stage! So, if you’re there to see a show, you’ll already be impressed before the band even starts. At the front lies a 3-foot-high stage which allows the performance to be seen by most (if not all) of the audience, a welcome change from other venues I regularly visit.  I must add that this audience is all ages.

Since 1987, Solar Culture had been entertaining its guests with outstanding performances, brain-pleasing art, and a comforting home-like feel. Come by for the art, stay for a show.
