Lots of places claim to be family-owned and -operated but that doesn’t mean the owners are necessarily on hand. At Vito’s Pizza and Italian Ristorante in Mesa, the family is present starting with, of course, Vito in the kitchen or near its bustling entrance to make sure all his guests are enjoying their time.

No worries there. From the flawless Italian dishes and Chicago-style pizza to the attentive staff and friendly atmosphere, every visit to Vito’s is certain to be a pleasant experience.

“Authentic” could be an added descriptor to every menu item. Whether opting for their famous thin-crust pizza, heralded not only by the Arizona regulars but by visiting Chicago natives, or selecting one of the scrumptious Italian pasta dishes, foodies will recognize there are no imitations here.

From the appetizer, the chefs at Vito’s begin establishing the theme for the night: exquisite crafting of traditional fare. Even the fried mozzarella, a common starter for not just Italian spots but all across the restaurant spectrum, finds truest form here. Crispy, seasoned, and savory… a far cry from the all-too-bland dish served at other locales.

Italian favorites abound on the menu intermingled with some house favorites and chef’s specialties like Seafood Lasagna and Rigatoni alla Vito’s made with their noted sunrise sauce.

Vito’s also offers gluten-free entreés and pizzas as well as some vegetarian-friendly options. So you needn’t reserve a visit to Vito’s for those indulgent evenings but anytime you like. Plan a night with the family or a romantic evening on the town. Whatever your fancy, Vito’s is sure to please the palate all in a warm environment of food, family, and fellowship.
