Carey Slade

Devoid of ostentation, Carey Slade’s voice reflects her character: honest, straightforward and humble, but not in any way meek. Slade emerges from a scene saturated in demure songbirds and is capable of taking the fellas on with her fierce combination of rock, folk and blues.

Her singing style brings to mind the earth mothers of rocknroll like Janice Joplin, Carly Simon and Loretta Lynn. She speaks with timeless wisdom in songs like “Walk On” and acknowledges the futility of all our wisdom in the face of love in songs like “Endless Circles” and “Wasn’t My Fault.”

Carey Slade performing with Marconias at Goat Head Saloon in March
Carey has long been a Valley favorite playing regularly around town. Every Tuesday night she can be found in Mesa hosting Goat Head Saloon’s award-winning open mic. Make sure you get down early to get your name on the performers list. First-come-first-up, Ms. Slade does not play favorites. Early arrival will also guarantee a chance to hear Carey perform for the crowd.

Whether you’re ready to put on your own performance or not, make sure you get out to hear Carey Slade live. She’s a performer not to be missed.
