The Valley's own Black Carl knows this and will be making a foray into this world in the second half of 2011. They're starting a record club. Starting in June, the band will release one EP on colored vinyl for four months straight. Each is named after an icon from the Tarot deck. The music will be available for digital download, as well. Die-hard fans can even order a deluxe package that includes both methods of release, a t-shirt designed by the band, and a secret gift from the band.
Black Carl has been killing it all over the Valley for years now. Their record club promises to get them some much deserved attention from around the country. Vinyl copies will be limited to five hundred per release, so act fast!
The music industry's stranglehold on musicians is slipping. The internet, coupled with listeners' frustration with the major labels' constant stream of shitty music, has led to a revolution of sorts. Artists can release and/or promote their music via the Web and be successful. And avoid bullshit from gladhanding executives.
