The historic mountainside town of Jerome is both a place of exquisite earthly beauty and rustic charm. The artistic penchant within Jerome’s meager population has elevated this former ghost town to a vibrant creative community.
The first Saturday of every month, visitors can get a healthy dose of the town’s artistry at the Jerome Art Walk from 5 to 8 pm.

Check out the many galleries that line the downtown area like Gallery 527 featuring a variety of Northern Arizonan artists or the Laughing Raven Gallery that offers an array of art from cowboy to pop. Head over to the Jerome Artists Cooperative, host to over 40 different local artists. Be sure to make the short trek (or free shuttle) to Hill Street for the many galleries and studios in Old Jerome High School.

Plan ahead if you want to stay overnight. Rooms fill quickly (and Halloween is always booked years in advance). Jerome has an assortment of quaint and classy eateries like Grapes or The Asylum Restaurant. For the full Jerome experience, cruise by Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards Wine Tasting Room which offers locally-produced red wine.

A day in Jerome is pleasantly passed. Add the warm bustle and creative energy of an art walk and you have the makings of a memorable daytrip.
